Fences
Broadway Weekend
Limited Run
Starring Denzel Washington
New York, NY
July 9-12, 2010
TESTIMONIAL:
”Janice and I had a wonderful weekend. All three of the shows were so different but so enjoyable, great seats. The hotel was above and beyond what I had anticipated. Spacious rooms and very helpful, friendly staff. The two included meals were very good. We so enjoyed the actors speaking to us at Sardi's. Your staff couldn't have been nicer or more helpful. We appreciate everything you did to make our trip memorable. Thank you.”

PACKAGE DESCRIPTION:
Broadway Across America is pleased to extend this invitation to join us for the must-see event of the season as part of an exclusive Broadway weekend in New York City. This can’t-miss experience feature the final weekend of an exclusive, strictly limited engagement, of August Wilson’s legendary play, FENCES, starring two-time Academy Award® winner Denzel Washington and Tony® winner Viola Davis.
Acclaimed director KENNY LEON helms this celebrated cast as the Pulitzer-prize winning FENCES returns to Broadway. Both a monumental drama and an intimate family portrait, FENCES tells the story of Troy Maxson, a man torn between the glory of his past and the uncertainty of his future. Emboldened by pride and embittered by sacrifice, Troy is determined to make life better for future generations, even as he struggles to embrace the dreams of his own son.
Denzel returns to Broadway for the first time since starring in JULIUS CAESAR (2005). He made his Broadway debut in CHECKMATES (1988). He is a two-time Oscar winner for his performances in TRAINING DAY and GLORY.
Not to be outdone, Viola Davis is a star in her own right, having garnered Tony®, Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle Awards for her riveting performance in August Wilson’s KING HEDLEY II. Davis is no stranger to the silver screen, having been nominated for an Academy Award, Golden Globe, SAG and Critics Choice award for her performance in DOUBT.
Your second featured trip of your weekend excursion is the smash hit revival of PROMISES, PROMISES.
It's Manhattan. It's the '60s. And the city is back in full swing, in Broadway's first-ever revival of the Burt Bacharach, Hal David, and Neil Simon classic—starring Emmy® Award winner Sean Hayes (Will and Grace) as the enterprising associate on the way up, and Tony® and Emmy® Award winner Kristin Chenoweth (Wicked) as the cafeteria waitress whose romantic troubles have got her down. Don't miss this smart and sexy musical, featuring such songs as "I'll Never Fall in Love Again" and the straight-up swinging title tune.
